40th Knox Art Show

The Rotary Club of Bayswater is holding the 40th Annual Knox Art Show on 29th and 30th March 2014 at the Knox Community Art Centre, Corner of Scoresby Road and Mountain Highway, Bayswater. The Show is open to all artists wishing to enter their original work and will offer prizes in the following categories:

Best Oil/Acrylic $1,250
Best Water Colour / Work on Paper $1,250
Best Pastel $1,250
Best Painting (All Mediums) Value: $501- $1,000 $400
Best Painting Value: Up to $500 $300
Best Photograph $250
Best Photograph – local City of Knox Scene $150
Peoples Choice Award Gallery 247 Classic membership
Honorable Mentions Certificate

All Awardees will also receive Certificates

This outstanding exhibition is one of the premier art shows in Melbourne and attracts artists from all over Australia. Typically, over 400 works of art are exhibited.

All proceeds from the Exhibition go towards assisting people in need. This year, one of the major beneficiaries will be the Eastern Ranges School (Autism Spectrum Disorder), which focuses on the education of P-12 students with various forms of autism.

Want a day in the Yarra Valley treating yourself to some outstanding local art exhibited in a wonderful setting? Why not come to the Warratina Lavender Farm Art Show?

Enjoy the Art Show, spoil yourself with some scumptious home-made food or a coffee in the restaurant and finish with a stroll around the beautiful gardens – a delight in Spring. It’s a wonderful, relaxing way to while away the time.

A wide range of paintings by members of the Mount Evelyn and Yarra Valley Arts Society will be on display. All works will be available for purchase at very modest prices during the event. A selection of unique greeting cards and craft items will also be available.

The paintings exhibited will include works in various mediums and styles – traditional and contemporary – and some of the artists will be in attendance at various stages during the week.

Warratina is one of our favourite venues for painting. With beautiful gardens, interesting buildings and stunning views of the ranges of the Yarra Valley, there a plenty of subjects for artists. Shelter is available if it is raining.

While morning tea, coffee and food are available in the cafe, you are also welcome to BYO lunch.

March 2013 Paintout

Venue – The Arts Centre – Warburton Highway, Warburton (low side).

The initial activity will be a walk through the Centre to view the “Upper Yarra Artisans” Art Exhibition. Then we’ll take a gentle stroll down to the Yarra River for some plein air painting.

This Exhibition provides an opportunity to view and purchase a diverse range of art works created by members of the Mount Evelyn and Yarra Valley Art Society. These include many of the leading artists of the Yarra Valley area. Entry is free, so the Exhibition is a great way to learn more about the work of the many dedicated artists from the local community.

As all works at the Exhibition are “For Sale”, this may be just the chance you’ve been looking for to purchase original art at very reasonable prices.

“Paynes Rise Winery” incorporates one of the most historic buildings of the Yarra Valley, the 1860’s homestead and property of Seville’s first settler, Thomas Payne. A small, boutique winery, Paynes Rise boasts outstanding views of the surrounding valley. There are plenty of other natural features to capture the artist’s imagination from the beauty of the colouring vines to the scenic views of the Australian landscape. In the background are the imposing peaks of the Great Dividing Range in and around Warburton. So the site offers a wide variety of subjects for artists with a love for the natural beauty of the Yarra Ranges.

For those needing refreshments, BYO lunch as only coffee will be available that day.
